I have been wanting to share this for a while and now that the documentary is being released, I’m hoping there will be answers.
In November of 2016 a 13-year-old boy went missing from his home in Pekin, Illinois. In the area, Pekin doesn’t have the best reputation, so it was surprising to no one that a young teenager with truancy issues would disappear for a few days. But those days turned to weeks and his mother’s behavior became erratic. Her Facebook posts were the talk of the town. And in small towns, gossip travels fast, but it was said that she was often seen out at the bars in the weeks following his disappearance, just as nothing had happened. In fact, after his disappearance, she had relocated to Springfield, Illinois, 60 miles from the home her son knew.
8 months later his body was found. The woods behind the property were owned by a person who had a nephew whom police have identified as a person involved in the investigation.
No arrests have been made to this day. I truly hope this documentary changes that.
